No freaking way. A Citroen. That’s a bird rarely seen. But a rare bird of paradise?! Holy shnarkies!!!
The Citroen, to me, has a similar yet more socialist tone, akin to owning an Alfa. Every die hard auto enthusiast must own an Alfa, and you must own something French - extra points for a Citroen.
Like everything French, it smoked pulling away from the light. I was unable to get a good picture of any other angle. The brief sight of the front I got, it looked late model for the run.
Anyone else know more about these?! It’s either a former diplomats car, grey market, or a 25 year import... but we will never know!

Not just a Citroen, but a highline Pallas, and a diesel to boot. Rare even at home, no doubt.
I wonder if it really came from CH, or elsewhere. I see a similar looking car was on BaT some time ago:

Yeah there are a few quirky people who move to Hawaii, I know a Brit with all forms of old minis on Oahu. That French car could have come from Tahiti or New Caledonia. Remember there is a lot of French in Polynesia ! They sell them on those islands.

I had no idea. Hate how everything is built everywhere now.

Pe r the comments on the BaT page, I’d say chances are greater than no t that it is the same car. Small world.

We get all kind of people in Hawaii, rich Euros have homes there. I know a guy who is a famous architect and built a crazy modern place by Diamond Head. My friend’s dad is a solar contractor and went there to look at putting solar water heating in and I was helping him that day. There is a guy with the Maserati MC12, so anything is possible in my state!

Not bad at all. 505s were a very popular export to Africa because of their reliability. They led second and third lives as taxis there.

Wow, I just stumbled upon this post. It’s my Citroen! Yes, it’s the one that was on BaT. It’s one of the very few that was sold in the US when new and imported by Trent imports. I bought is in California and shipped it here. I’m Swiss (hence the CH) but have been in Hawaii for over 25 years. I learned to drive in the 80s in Switzerland on BX and always loved Citroens. This one is a non turbo diesel with a 5 speed manual and is rust free all original. Never been restored. Mahalo!

No freakin way! Excellent Citroen. I was on vacation, and stopped behind you on the highway by the airport. You’ve got one of the most unusual and rare cars in the islands I’d think.
